How to Make Apple Watch Run Effectively

Apple Watch is a series of smartwatches, designed and developed by Apple. It also incorporates health-oriented capabilities and fitness tracking. Apple watch relies on wirelessly connected iPhone to perform many of its default functions like calling and texting. Apple Watch released on 24 April 2015 and became famous the same year. It became the best selling wearable device with almost 4.2 million sold. The second generation of Apple watches released in two tiers by September 2016; the first generation watches were discontinued. Apple watches third series three released on 22 September 2017 with discontinuation of Apple watch series. Apple Watch series 4 announced on 12 September 2018. The goal of Apple Watch was to enhance uses of an iPhone with some additional features.

If you track your run on the mobile app, the Watch will lighten up your road. Strava, Runkeeper, Nike+Run Club are just some of the significant running apps that are available on Apple Watch. It allows you to leave your phone behind. If you are not bound to any 3rd party app, then the native activity app has almost all features that will are required to log those miles and will also keep you motivated.
  • Calibrate the watch
Calibrating the watch to your pace and stride to get an accurate read of distance when you leave the phone behind or GPS is not reliable. Just go to My Watch app on your phone and click on Privacy, select Fitness Calibration data. To recalibrate, Apple recommends to take your watch out on jogging in a flat open area where you get good reception. The users of series one will have to bring the phone along on this first run.  You need to start an outdoor walk or run in the workout app on Apple watch and do that for at least 20 minutes. You also can do this in the intervals of 5 or 10 minutes. It’s essential to reach a total of 20 minutes to calibrate accurately.

  • Maximize battery life
Runs are not good on the battery life. If you are a night jogger, you may find yourself running on empty. At times, the battery may die before you finish your run. The run will not be shown up in your activity log. Activate the power saving mode from the Apple Watch, go to Settings/General/Workout and toggle the Power Saving Mode option.
